The Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women will hold their annual NICU reunion in person for the first time since before the pandemic on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

“It is such a blessing to be able to host the NICU reunion in person again,” said Allison Bosse, Administrator and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women and the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital. “The relationship that each and every family builds with the nurses and medical staff during their stay in the NICU is truly unique and we love bringing these groups together to celebrate the newfound friendship and the significant milestones our NICU grads are meeting.”

Sonia Leonard, who will be present at this year’s reunion, had to deliver her daughter when she was only 26 weeks pregnant. Her daughter, Ava Grace, spent 57 days in the NICU where she and her family formed a lasting connection with her entire medical team.

“We could not do this without each one of them,” said Sonia. “The nurses, chaplains, neonatologists, therapists, specialists, front desk personnel, admin and faculty staff – we thank God every day for them!”

The reunion has a different theme each year, of which this year’s is a safari. Guests are always encouraged to wear costumes and attire to match the theme.
